February 14th General Meeting

We encourage CRA members to bring a bag of non-perishables to the February General Meeting or make a cash donation. We will donate the items and money to the New Emergency Resource Agency (NERA) at 500 North First Street. The food is distributed in Ponca City and other surrounding communities and in 2011, they distributed over 273,000 meals to the unemployed, under resourced, and homeless. We will be awarding two lucky winners a $50 gift certificate to the Rusty Barrel.  There will be more information in the February Afterglow.

ConocoPhillips Gym & Facilities

Site leadership has announce to employees that contract employees may use the gym & facilities.  The possibility of the gym closing has been, and is a concern for many retirees (as well as employees).  It is our hope that by adding clientele to the facility that closing becomes less of or even a non issue.  

•  the number of employees on site has decreased in recent years, use of the fitness facilities has also decreased.To help increase the facility utilization, COP will begin offering use of the facilities to employees of contractors who work on site on a longer-term basis.A fee will be charged for these contractor employees and their dependents.hing will change for employees or retirees.  Hopefully, you will see more people using the facilities. 

ConocoPhillips Matching Gifts Program

Employee gifts to eligible non-profit organizations matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000 annually

Retiree gifts matched dollar-for-dollar up to $7,500 annually

Employee & Retiree Grant Program

ConocoPhillips will contribute $500 to an eligible non-profit for 20 hours volunteered.  You may apply for two Individual Grants per calendar year. Additionally, teams of four or more employees and/or retirees volunteering 40 hours on a project may apply for a Team Grant of $1,000 for an eligible non-profit.  There is no limit to the number of Team Grants in which you can participate.  The non-profit organization is limited to $6,000 annually. To apply, you must have your ConocoPhillips ID number.  You can obtain it by calling HR Connections at 866-901-6248.

      COP Financial Grants

Go to the COP(Retiree Information) link at the top of this page for more information about  GRANTS. This program includes matching financial grants for donations to organizations and grants for volunteer activities.

As an example, a team of about 25 Ponca City area volunteers assisted more than 340 Medicare recipients with their 2011 prescription drug plans and Medicare Part-D enrollment. The estimated savings was $650 per person and over $220,000 for all of those that sought our help. Additionally, nearly 500 volunteer hours were logged, and the ConocoPhillips Volunteer Grant Program paid out another $11,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations.

The CRA reported more than 17,000 volunteer hours to RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) during 2009 CRA members who volunteer in Ponca City are encouraged to register with RSVP and report their volunteer hours monthly.
